Seasaw AI is building AI agents for complex regulatory, legal, and compliance work. Businesses operating across borders are required to navigate thousands of regulations spanning customs, trade, taxation, foreign exchange, payments, banking, AML/KYC, product regulations, documentation, reporting, licensing, audits, and government systems. These requirements are highly fragmented, jurisdiction-specific, constantly changing, and often interconnected—where a change or error in one obligation can create consequences across multiple other compliances, filings, documents, financial reconciliations, or government systems. Today, much of this work is still performed manually by lawyers, compliance teams, consultants, customs brokers, accountants, and operations teams across disconnected portals, regulations, circulars, databases, spreadsheets, and internal systems.
Seasaw AI uses AI agents to automate this work end-to-end. An agent can research primary regulations and authoritative sources, understand the context of a business, product, transaction, shipment, or entity, determine which obligations apply, reason across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory regimes, identify dependencies and risks, generate the required analysis and documentation, monitor regulatory changes, and help execute or coordinate the resulting workflows. The objective is not simply to provide an answer, but to produce traceable, evidence-backed, review-ready compliance work and continuously keep businesses aligned as regulations change.
We are initially building around the highly complex world of cross-border trade and import/export compliance, covering markets including the European Union, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, India, and Southeast Asia, with the ability to extend globally. Our research spans the full lifecycle of international commerce: pre-shipment requirements, product and market-entry requirements, customs and import/export regulations, HS classification and tariff requirements, duties and taxes, VAT/GST, export documentation, licenses and permits, restricted and controlled goods, sanctions and trade restrictions, origin and preferential trade rules, ecommerce and marketplace requirements, foreign-exchange and banking regulations, payment and PSP requirements, AML/KYC, trade finance, government reporting, post-shipment obligations, export-proceeds realization, reconciliation, proof of export, tax/GST/VAT refunds, audits, incentives and subsidies, and penalties. We focus particularly on the dependencies between these obligations for example, where customs data, invoices, shipping documents, banking records, tax filings, government portals, and financial reconciliations must all remain consistent.
Trade is the starting point, not the boundary of the company. The same underlying problem exists across many areas of regulatory and legal work. Companies need to continuously understand what rules apply to them, interpret complex legal and regulatory material, determine how those rules affect specific transactions and operations, monitor changes across jurisdictions, and convert regulatory requirements into actions. Seesaw AI is therefore being built as a broader agentic compliance and legal-research platform, capable of expanding from trade into tax, corporate and regulatory compliance, financial regulation, product and industry-specific regulation, legal research, regulatory monitoring, audits, reporting, and other complex knowledge workflows.
Our long-term vision is to move from software that helps people manage compliance to AI agents that perform compliance work. Instead of requiring a team to manually search regulations, interpret them, determine applicability, track changes, reconcile information across systems, prepare filings, and repeatedly verify compliance, Seesaw agents can continuously research, reason, monitor, and act across the regulatory stack with humans retaining oversight for decisions that require judgment. Seasaw AI aims to become the intelligence and execution layer for businesses operating in complex regulatory environments.
